About the Role
Coop Bank is looking for a dynamic and experienced Relationship Manager – Trade Finance to expand and manage its growing trade finance portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing tailored trade solutions to clients, building strong relationships, and ensuring that all trade finance transactions meet compliance and risk management standards.
This role requires a strong background in international trade, corporate banking, and financial instruments such as Letters of Credit, Guarantees, and Documentary Collections.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management

Manage and grow a portfolio of trade finance clients.

Act as the primary contact for all trade finance matters, offering expert advice and solutions.

Build and maintain long-term relationships with corporate and SME clients.
Business Development

Identify and pursue new opportunities in trade finance across industries (import/export, construction, manufacturing, etc.).

Cross-sell related banking products to maximize client value.

Support branch and corporate teams in identifying trade finance needs.
Trade Product Management

Structure and deliver solutions such as Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, Documentary Collections, and Trade Loans.

Work with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of trade finance transactions.

Collaborate with Operations and Risk teams to ensure compliance with bank policies and international trade regulations.
Risk & Compliance

Monitor credit, market, and operational risks associated with trade transactions.

Ensure all transactions comply with regulatory requirements and AML standards.

Participate in regular reviews of client accounts and trade facilities.
Reporting & Analysis

Maintain accurate records of client interactions and transactions.

Prepare periodic reports on portfolio performance, pipeline, and risk exposure.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, International Trade, or a related field.

Professional certifications such as CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist) or CITF (Certificate in International Trade and Finance) will be an added advantage.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in Trade Finance, Corporate Banking, or Relationship Management.

Solid understanding of trade finance products, international trade practices, and risk frameworks.

Strong business development and client relationship skills.

Familiarity with Guarantees and Letters of Credit (LCs).
