About the Role

SUMAIT University seeks a dynamic Planning Officer to contribute to our institutional growth and strategic development. This pivotal role requires a skilled professional to assist in planning, marketing, and community engagement initiatives that support the University’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Provide technical expertise on University plans, programs, and projects
✔ Assist in short-term planning and resource allocation under DVC Administration
✔ Coordinate marketing strategies to enhance student recruitment and community engagement
✔ Prepare project proposals and oversee campus development plans (e.g., residences, offices, infrastructure)
✔ Develop and implement strategic operational programs with university-wide impact
✔ Establish organizational goals, policies, and operating procedures
✔ Manage budgets and monitor program effectiveness
✔ Contribute to policy development through University committees

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Development Planning, Project Management, or related Social Science field
• 3+ years of experience in planning at a higher education institution or large organization
• Strong knowledge of planning principles, market research, and data analysis
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills (written and verbal English)

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in Planning, Business Administration, or related field
• Experience in budget preparation and fiscal management
• Knowledge of academic administration and staff hiring procedures
