1. POSITION: RESEARCH TRAINEE (Junior Behavioral Researcher)
Location: Morogoro
Number of Posts: 1
Position Summary:
The Junior Behavioral Researcher will support research activities with African Giant Pouched Rats by assisting in the design, execution, and analysis of behavioral studies. This includes data collection, rat training, and handling, and contributing to research documentation.
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Laboratory Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Animal Science, or a related field (minimum GPA 3.5).
- General computer skills (typing, email, software management).
- Strong database and spreadsheet skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Prior research and statistical analysis experience.
- Proficiency in English and Swahili (spoken and written).
- Keen attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work both independently and in a team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, execution, and analysis of behavioral experiments.
- Prepare odor samples and manage research materials.
- Handle, train, and care for rats, including feeding and exercise routines.
- Collect and analyze research data and draft research manuscripts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

2. POSITION: ASSISTANT ICT OFFICER (Data Clerk)
Location: Morogoro
Number of Posts: 1
Position Summary:
The Data Clerk will support the Training Department by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data related to rodent training and performance, enabling effective record-keeping and analysis.
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1-year experience as a Data Clerk.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel (including pivot tables), PowerPoint, and SQL.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Fluent in English and Swahili.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enter and manage daily notes and training records.
- Maintain data accuracy and security.
- Generate reports and file documents properly.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

3. POSITION: LABORATORY TECHNICIAN II
Location: Moshi
Number of Posts: 2
Position Summary:
The Laboratory Technician will support TB laboratory activities, including sample collection, preparation, and analysis.
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Diploma in Laboratory Science, Laboratory Technology, or a related field.
- Experience working in a TB Laboratory.
- Strong verbal and written English skills.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect, process, and prepare laboratory samples.
- Prepare reagents and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Ensure compliance with biosafety regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

4. POSITION: RODENT TRAINER
Location: Moshi
Number of Posts: 3
Position Summary:
The Rodent Trainer will train rats for Tuberculosis detection and ensure their welfare.
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Secondary School Certificate with at least Division IV and three passes.
- Experience managing animals (prior experience with African Giant Pouched Rats is a plus).
- Proficiency in English.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Train and care for rats, ensuring their health and well-being.
- Document and report training progress.
- Maintain clean and safe housing for rats.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

5. POSITION: HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER II
Location: Morogoro
Number of Posts: 1
Position Summary:
The HR Officer will support the HR Department by handling administrative and HR-related tasks.
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of HR experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support HR processes, including recruitment, payroll, and training.
- Manage staff records and contracts.
- Assist with travel arrangements and statutory compliance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

6. POSITION: ICT OFFICER (Data Officer)
Location: Moshi
Number of Posts: 1
Position Summary:
The Data Officer will manage and ensure the accuracy of patient data for the TB Program.
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience working in TB data management.
- Proficiency in database tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enter and manage patient data in the TB database.
- Develop processes to optimize database security.
- Generate reports and visualizations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

7. POSITION: LABORATORY/OFFICE ASSISTANT (Sample Collector)
Locations: Kilimanjaro, Arusha, Tanga, Manyara
Number of Posts: 4
Position Summary:
The Sample Collector will collect and transport patient samples from DOTS centers to the laboratory.
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Secondary School Certificate.
- Valid Class A driving license.
- Basic computer certificate (added advantage).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect and transport samples and deliver results to healthcare workers.
- Monitor SUA-APOPO equipment in DOTS centers.
- Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure efficient operations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Age Limit: Not above 45 years.
REMUNERATION:
As per Treasury Registrar’s Circular No. 6 of 2022, applicable at the time of appointment.
TERMS OF CONTRACT:
- One-year contract, renewable based on performance and funding.
- Includes a six-month probationary period.
