Position Overview: HR Business Partner

The HR Business Partner will play a critical role in supporting the Human Resources department to ensure efficient business operations. The ideal candidate will contribute to all key HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning and development, organizational culture, and compliance with employment laws.

Key Responsibilities

As a strategic member of the HR team, you will be responsible for:

  1. Onboarding and Offboarding

    • Coordinate and schedule the onboarding process for new hires to ensure a seamless first-day experience.

    • Handle all administrative tasks related to onboarding, orientation, and exit processes.

    • Ensure accurate data entry in HR systems and maintain compliance with company policies.

  2. Performance Management

    • Guide line managers through the performance management cycle, including reviews and goal setting.

    • Facilitate quarterly performance evaluations using the HR information system.

    • Support a performance-driven culture that aligns with company goals and values.

  3. HR Advisory and Employee Relations

    • Provide consultation on matters related to absence management, disciplinary actions, grievance handling, and organizational changes.

    • Act as a liaison between employees and leadership to resolve conflicts and enhance communication.

  4. Policy and Compliance

    • Assist in developing, updating, and communicating HR policies, the employee handbook, and organizational charts.

    • Ensure legal compliance with Tanzania’s labor laws and advise on necessary policy updates.

  5. Learning and Development

    • Promote learning initiatives that support employee growth and organizational development.

    • Work closely with managers to identify training needs and implement development plans.

  6. Culture and Engagement

    • Monitor and support the organization’s cultural development and employee engagement strategies.

    • Promote a values-based workplace that ensures high levels of employee satisfaction.

  7. HRIS and Reporting

    • Ensure HR system data is accurate, updated, and maintained with high confidentiality.

    • Generate HR metrics and reports for management decision-making.

  8. Health, Safety, and Environmental Initiatives

    • Support the implementation of safety policies and Environmental Social Management Systems as per global HR directives.

  9. Continuous Improvement

    • Recommend process improvements to enhance HR efficiency and the overall employee experience.

    • Stay updated on HR trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.

  • Professional Certification (SHRM, CIPD, or similar) is preferred.

  • At least 3 years of experience in HR functions, particularly in employee relations and performance management.

  • Strong knowledge of Tanzanian Labor Laws and HR best practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to support organizational culture, manage performance systems, and handle change initiatives.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in HR Information Systems and general computer applications (Google Workspace preferred).

  • High integrity and the ability to handle sensitive data with discretion.
