Internship Summary
IHI is inviting applications from qualified and dedicated Clinical Officer Interns to join its Clinical Trials Facility in Bagamoyo. This is a hands-on internship ideal for graduates looking to gain real-world experience in clinical research, community engagement, and medical care under a research setting.
Key Responsibilities

Participate in community sensitization and retention meetings
-
Treat patients as per National Standard Treatment Guidelines
-
Review laboratory results and resolve data queries
-
Attend both internal and external meetings related to study conduct
-
Support development of study SOPs and documents
-
Recruit, follow up, and retain study participants according to protocol
-
Ensure compliance with approved protocols and ethics
-
Oversee study procedures in line with ICH-GCP, NIMR, and TFDA standards
-
Foster trust and effective communication in all project areas
-
Assist engagement coordinators and maintain strong facility links
-
Support the community recruitment and sensitization process
-
Perform additional duties as directed by the project leader
Qualifications Required
-
Diploma in Clinical Medicine
-
Valid license to practice from the Medical Council of Tanganyika
Essential Skills and Competencies

Basic digital skills (MS Office, data management tools)

Excellent time management and organizational skills
-
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP)

Strong interpersonal and team collaboration abilities

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Effective communication in English and Swahili
