Abdulrahman Al-Sumait University (SUMAIT) is a premier institution built on the legacy of the former University College of Education Zanzibar. As part of its expansion, SUMAIT invites qualified candidates to apply for the following academic and administrative positions:

1. Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Finance and Administration (DVC AF)

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee administration, finance, and planning divisions.
• Ensure compliance with statutory/legal requirements.
• Advise the Vice-Chancellor on financial and administrative matters.
• Develop and implement university policies and strategic plans.

Qualifications:

• PhD (Professor/Associate Professor) with 10+ years of senior management experience.
• Expertise in financial management, strategic planning, and resource mobilization.

Tenure: 4-year term (renewable).

2. Internal Auditor

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate internal controls and financial records.
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Liaise with external auditors and implement audit recommendations.

Qualifications:

• CPA(T)/ACCA/ACA with 5+ years of auditing experience.

3. Planning Officer

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in resource allocation and strategic planning.
• Coordinate marketing strategies and infrastructure development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Planning, Project Management, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in higher education or large organizations.

4. University Imam and Student Affairs Officer

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide spiritual guidance and counseling to students/staff.
• Oversee student welfare activities and moral development programs.

Qualifications:

• Master’s in Islamic Studies + 3+ years of leadership experience.
• Certified by religious/government authorities.

5. Legal Counsel

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise on legal matters, contracts, and compliance.
• Represent the university in judicial/administrative proceedings.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Law + 3–4 years of relevant experience.

6. Personal Secretary to Vice-Chancellor

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the VC’s schedule, correspondence, and travel arrangements.
• Conduct confidential research and liaise with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree + 4–5 years of senior secretariat experience.

7. Academic Positions (5 Posts)

Qualifications:

• PhD (preferred) or Master’s with 3+ years of teaching/research experience.
