Job Description
The Human Resources Assistant (American Services) will be responsible for all American personnel Human Resources activities at the Mission. This includes handling official messages for arriving and departing U.S. Direct Hire (USDH) staff, check-in/check-out processing, advising American employees on career development and personnel regulations, processing new and existing USDH and family member positions, maintaining files, managing recruitment programs, and providing general guidance and support for diplomatic accreditation.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise GBV team members and provide technical support.
- Ensure the quality of program planning, implementation, and follow-up.
- Facilitate training workshops on GBV issues for various stakeholders.
- Manage and coordinate GBV program activities in refugee camps and host communities.
- Monitor financial commitments and expenditures.
Experience and Skills Required
- Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in human resources or an administrative field.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet).
- Ability to learn new personnel systems and tools.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills to manage in-person and telephone contacts.
- Organized, diligent, and able to work under pressure.
- Good interpersonal relationships.
Education Requirements
- Completion of two (2) years of general college studies.
Language Requirements
- Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required.
- Level III (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing Kiswahili is required. (This may be tested)
