Position Overview

Job Purpose

The role is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading a team that delivers efficient and cost-effective IT network security controls. The specialist will defend CRDB’s network infrastructure against unauthorized access, cyber threats, and internal vulnerabilities, ensuring the safety and integrity of digital operations across the bank.

Key Responsibilities

1. Network Protection & Access Control

   • Define access privileges, control structures, and resource protection.

   • Configure and maintain security for LAN, WAN, WLAN, Core Network, and Data Centers.

2. Infrastructure Configuration & Incident Management

   • Manage and optimize network security devices (firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers).

   • Handle high-impact incidents and support disaster recovery plans.

3. Security Enhancements & Risk Mitigation

   • Analyze infrastructure vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.

   • Collaborate with other teams to identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.

4. Technical Leadership

   • Act as liaison with external vendors for technical resolution and compliance with SLAs.

   • Lead and support procurement of IT equipment, software, and licenses.

5. Technology Deployment

   • Implement and maintain advanced security appliances: Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto PAN-OS, FortiGate NGF.

   • Support IP voice services and VPNs (IPSec, SSL).

6. Compliance & Documentation

   • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance across network systems.

   • Maintain technical documentation and asset inventories.

7. Training & Support

   • Provide coaching to team members and ensure knowledge transfer on best practices.

8. Continuous Improvement

   • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in cybersecurity and ICT infrastructure.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Technology or a closely related field.

Certifications (Mandatory):

• CompTIA Network+

• Cisco CCNP

• Certified Security Professional (CSP)

• Other OEM Internetwork Expert Certifications (added advantage)

Professional Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years in a similar role, preferably within the banking or financial sector.

• Proven track record in managing network security infrastructure.

• Hands-on experience with security tools and protocols from multiple vendors (Cisco, Fortinet, F5, Palo Alto, etc.).

Technical Skills:

• Expert in network security and router/firewall configuration.

• Strong understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPNs.

• Familiarity with virtualization platforms like VMware, Citrix, and Hyper-V.

• Skilled in managing Windows and Linux server environments.

• Proficient in enterprise network monitoring and documentation.
