Internship Summary
Ifakara Health Institute invites applications from qualified Assistant Nursing Officer Interns to join its Clinical Trials Facility. Successful interns will support clinical activities at selected research sites, with a focus on participant recruitment, follow-ups, and general nursing care.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Design data collection tools such as case report forms and source documents.

Educate volunteers about clinical studies using approved tools.

Obtain informed consent from study participants or guardians.
-
Perform and document vital signs and anthropometric assessments.

Collect and label medical samples (blood, urine, serum, etc.) for analysis.

Assist in preparing duty rosters and workflow with senior nurses.

Provide medical counselling and support to study volunteers.
-
Assess patient needs and implement appropriate nursing care plans.

Take vital signs, assist in feeding, and support patient care.

Maintain accurate medical records and signed consent documentation.

Perform additional general nursing and midwifery tasks as required.

Contribute to smooth project implementation under study protocols and ethical standards.
Required Qualifications
-
Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery

Registered and licensed by Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC)
Desired Skills & Competencies

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data tools

Excellent time management and planning skills
-
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP)

Strong communication in both English and Kiswahili

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
