Eligibility Requirements for the Japan International MANGA Award
To be eligible for the Japan International MANGA Award, submissions must meet the following criteria:
- The manga work must consist of more than 16 pages.
- Both published and unpublished works are accepted, except those previously won this award.
- Eligible works must have been created between 2022 and 2025.
- Submitted works must not infringe on the intellectual property rights of any third party.
- Entries must be the original creation of the artist.
- Works primarily generated by AI (including plot, composition, and drawing) are not accepted. AI-generated images may be used as supplemental material for certain parts of the work, provided their use is declared in the submission forms.
- Each comic artist is allowed to submit only one entry. If multiple entries are submitted, only the first entry will be considered, and all subsequent entries will be invalid.
- The applicant must be a non-Japanese national. For collaborative works, at least one creator (artist or writer) must be a non-Japanese national.
- The applicant must hold the copyright and legitimate rights to the submitted work and grant the Japan International MANGA Award Executive Committee the right to use it (e.g., for exhibition or publication).
