Position Overview
Zanzibar Pearl Boutique Hotel seeks an experienced Sous Chef to lead daily kitchen operations. This key leadership role requires culinary expertise and management skills to maintain exceptional dining standards at our 4-star establishment.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Assist Head Chef in all kitchen operations and menu development
✔ Lead and mentor team of 10+ kitchen staff
✔ Manage food costing, inventory, and supplier relationships
✔ Ensure strict compliance with food safety/hygiene standards
✔ Oversee food preparation and plating quality
✔ Develop new menu items and seasonal specials
✔ Manage staff schedules and kitchen workflow
Mandatory Requirements
- 5+ years as Sous Chef in 4/5-star hotels
- 5+ years managing 10+ kitchen staff
- Certified culinary qualifications
- Employment certificates from 3 previous positions
- Proven track record in fine dining establishments
Essential Skills
- Expertise in all kitchen stations
- Strong leadership and training abilities
- Financial management (food costing/budgeting)
- Creativity in menu development
- Excellent communication skills
Work Schedule
- Rotational shifts (7 days/week)
- Split shifts required
- Flexibility during peak seasons
