Brief Description

The Axel Adler Scholarship is the University of Gothenburg’s main scholarship program for fee-paying students pursuing eligible Master’s programs.

Field(s) of Study

• Any full-time Master’s programmes offered at the University, including the Bachelor’s programmes in Software Engineering, International Relations, and Business and Economics.

Number of Scholarships

• One scholarship is awarded for each programme.
• Four scholarships are available for Master’s programmes in the Fine, Applied, and Performing Arts and Music and Performance.
• Two Axel Adler Scholarships for Sustainability 2025 are available for students studying a sustainability-focused programme.

Target Group

• Citizens from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions

• Scholarships cover the tuition fee of the admitted programme.
• Note: It is a tuition fee waiver; no additional financial support for living expenses or travel grants is provided.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Axel Adler Scholarship, candidates must:

• Be required to pay tuition fees in Sweden.
• Apply for an international campus-based programme at the University of Gothenburg as their first priority.
• Students must submit their applications for studies by 15 January 2025, pay the application fee, and document their eligibility for studies by 3 February 2025 through University Admissions.

Application Instructions

To be considered for the Axel Adler Scholarships:

1. Apply for a Master’s programme via University Admissions by 15 January 2025. Only applicants with a University of Gothenburg programme as their first priority are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
2. Eligible students will receive an email with application instructions around 11 February 2025.
