Job Description:

We are seeking a Boiler Operator for our Captive Power Plant to manage shift operations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the smooth functioning of the plant’s power generation unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating and maintaining boilers and steam turbines, preferably within a coal-based thermal power plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage shift operations in a thermal power generation unit.
  • Plan and execute shift operational activities, including troubleshooting and resolving operational issues.
  • Plan load management and stoppage drives for the plant.
  • Conducted routine checks and coordinated with field operators for minor maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor and ensure environmental compliance during shifts.
  • Safely operate the power plant and utilities, ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the cement plant.
  • Handle emergency situations in boiler and turbine operations to minimize stoppages and ensure the efficient operation of connected load main drives.

Qualifications:

  • Full-time VETA certification, preferably as a Boiler Technician.
  • Experience operating DCS panels, boilers, and steam turbines (0-1 year of experience).
  • Familiarity with coal-based thermal power plants and AFBC boilers is desirable.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in major repair activities, including boiler and turbine overhauling.
  • Knowledge of cold and hot start-up procedures for AFBC boilers from both DCS panels and the field.
  • Ability to manage plant operational emergencies such as blackouts, system failures, and load throws.
  • Proficiency in addressing breakdowns like bed coil punctures, replacements, and hydro testing of boilers.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both boilers and DCS panels.
